Vitamins like B complex, vitamin C and vitamin D also plays important role in hair growth. Iron and some other minerals like zinc are also required for normal functioning of the body.

You can get this nutrient in Yogurt, Amla, citrus fruits, Jaggery, flax seeds, pumpkin seeds, dry fruits etc. Include these in your daily diet and within few months you will find a difference in your hair texture.
c) Take Supplements
Today’s world is full of pollution and adulteration, so the food we are eating is how much safe and contain how many nutrients we don’t know. So this is the main reason for various nutritional deficiencies. Food supplements if taken even in small amounts helps to improve our quality of hair as well as the quality of life.
Vitamin B 12, D, C are must for our hair. They also improve our working efficiency. Similarly essential fatty acids are usually deficient in the vegetarian diet. The shampoo is used to clean our hair so it must have the Ph which matches with the hair and skin. Always use Ph balanced shampoo ie acidic (Ph should be around 5.4). These will maintain the normal texture of the hair and improves their shining. If Ph of the shampoo is towards alkaline side ie more than 7 then hair becomes frizzy and dry, they will look like malnourished hair.
e) Avoid Gels and Styling Tools
Styling products and gels are made up of the harmful chemicals, they give short-term happiness if your hair looks good but ultimately they are going to harm the hair and hair fall increases.
Most of the hairstyle product makes the hair rough and dry. It may lead to discolouration also by damaging them. Some person may develop an allergy to them because of the harmful chemicals in it.
You should use natural products for your hair like aloe vera and Coconut oil.
f) Gentle Massage Increase Blood Flow
Massaging the scalp relieves stress, it also increases blood circulation of the scalp. But if massaging is done vigorously than hair shaft gets broken and hair fall increases. Gentle massage can be done with simple coconut oil or any herbal oil.
g) Correction of Hormonal Imbalance
Hypothyroidism, PCOD and Menopause in a female are some of the well known hormonal Imbalance which causes hair fall, correction of these will automatically improve hair.
Genetically prone male have excess hair thinning even with normal testosterone level. So they should consult to their doctor and take medicines to prevent this.
h) FDA Approved Treatment
Minoxidil 5 % and Finasteride 1 mg
These two drugs have USFDA approved treatment for hair fall and thinning. Minoxidil is an antihypertensive drug, when applied locally by the patients it increases blood flow to the scalp and increases the nutrition of the hair follicle. Effect of minoxidil starts in 2-3 months after application. It not only improve the density of hair but also increases its volume by increasing thickness.
i) PRP Treatment
PRP is the Platelet Rich Plasma. The normal concentration of platelets in blood is around 200,000 per cc. In PRP it increases up to 5 fold ie 1000,000 per cc. Platelets releases various growth factors, these stimulate stem cells in the bulge and bulb area(root) of the hair follicle for growth. Results of PRP are very good.
PRP is used in various other modalities like orthopaedics and dentistry.
j) Laser Treatment
LASER for hair growth is cold Laser, they do not heat the tissue and act by increasing ATP production. They have a good effect on patterned hair loss in both male and female. Laser cap and combs are available in the market, which should be used as per instructions are given by the doctor.
It is not necessary that all types of hair loss respond to the hair growth laser.
This treatment should be used as an adjuvant to other treatments like food supplements and PRP.
For the more severe degree of baldness, hair transplant is the only option.
