LASER means “Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation”
A laser is a coherent electromagnetic field. In a coherent beam of electromagnetic energy, all the waves have the same frequency and phase.

WHAT ARE IPL/ Photo facial?

IPL (also known as intense pulsed light (photofacial) is a skin rejuvenation treatment that improves a variety of skin conditions on the face and body. This includes various signs of aging, such as sun damage, freckles, brown spots, broken capillaries, and fine lines, as well as skin conditions such as hyperpigmentation, flushed appearance, and rosacea.

A photofacial, or “fotofacial,” is a procedure in which intense pulses of light are used to penetrate deep into the skin. IPL photo rejuvenation then causes collagen and blood vessels below the epidermis to constrict, reduction in skin wrinkles making your face look smoother and younger.

We are using Quanta IPL laser treatment for following skin problems:
Vascular lesions including spider angiomas, port wine stains, broken facial veins, rosy cheeks, rosacea and red thread veins of the legs Freckles and age marks, Facial lines and wrinkles ,Acne and stretch marks. Removal of unwanted dark hair The procedure of rejuvenating aged skin is referred to as photo rejuvenation and requires a series of IPL treatments.

How does IPL work?

The Light Plus uses the IPL; 590-1200nm.The IPL Target chromophore is Haemoglobin which absorbed light. Light is transformed into heat. Heat is conducted to the smallest and most superficial vessel walls causing destruction of the vessel if 70º C > 1 ms. The vessels also release growth factors which stimulate collagen production in the dermis. These give rise to reduction in wrinkles and reduction in pore size. The outcome is skin that appears smoother and more vibrant.

IPL and Sun Exposure

Sun damage takes its toll on our skin in numerous ways. Long-term exposure to the sun can result in pigmentation changes in the skin. These are commonly referred to as brown spots, sunspots, or hyperpigmentation apparent on the face, neck, chest and hands. After a series of treatments, you will see a significant reduction of unwanted pigmentation and the appearance of smoother, revitalized skin.

Some of the most common IPL side effects include:

  • Redness
  • Swelling
  • Minor Bruising
  • Itchiness
  • Peeling
  • Scabbing

How long will the results from a photofacial last?
That depends on how much sun exposure your skin gets after your laser treatments.  If you are in the sun a lot and do not use sunscreen, the underlying issues, whether they are redness or brown spots, will return.  But if you take good care of your skin and keep it protected from the sun, your skin will continue to look good with maintenance sittings for treatment.

Nd:YAG laser rod. Nd:YAG (neodymium-doped yttrium Aluminum garnet; Nd:Y3Al5O12) is a crystal that is used as a lasing medium for solid-state lasers.
The triply ionized neodymium [Nd(III)] dopant (i.e. a substance added in minute amounts to another pure substance to alter its conductivity), typically replaces a small fraction of the yttrium ions in the host crystal structure, since the two ions are of similar size. The neodymium ion provides the laser activity in the crystal. Nd YAG laser has a wave length of 1064 nm and has the capability to reach deeper layers of skin tissue than other types of laser treatment.

How Nd YAG lasers system works?
The Nd YAG laser treatment is gentle and practically painless. The laser beam is attacks by the pigment in the individual hairs, resulting in heat generation at hair roots. The heat destroys hair follicle without affecting the skin. No further hair growth from destroyed hair root.

Nd:YAG laser can be used to remove brown age spots (solar lentigines), freckles, naevus of Ota, naevus of Ito, mongolian spots, Hairy nevus and café-au-lait-macules.Light pulses target melanin at variable depth on or in the skin.

Laser hair removal created controversy when it was first described about 10 years ago. Subsequently, it became an accepted modality for long term hair reduction in any location including underarms, bikini line, face, neck, back, chest and legs.

Nd:YAG laser is generally ineffective for light-colored (brownish/grayish) hair, but effective for treating dark (brown/black) hair in patients.

The longer-pulse (millisecond) 1064-nm Nd:YAG laser system has been shown to be more effective in safely removing hair than has the Q-switched (nanosecond) Nd:YAG system.

Light pulses target the hair follicle, which causes the hair to fall out and minimises further growth. Typical settings employed include pulse durations of 2 to 20 milliseconds and fluences of 10¬40 J/cm2.

Laser hair removal treatments are very safe. Usually there are no side effects but sometimes it may be possible, blistering, burning, scarring, hyperpigmentation (darkening of the skin), hypopigmentation (lightening of the skin), or paradoxical hair growth which results in increased hair growth in treated areas. You will need to limit sun exposure before and after treatments to minimize the risk of complications.

Do any special precaution needed before treatment ?

It is important, not to remove hair by waxing, threading or hair removal cream & at last 2 weeks before the treatment.

Does it painful ?

During treatment a tingling rubber band snapping sensation followed by warm sensation on the skin. This is nothing compare to painful tweezing, waxing, depilation & shaving.

Do any precaution after treatment ?

Generally no post treatment is necessary but people with very sensitive skin may benefit by using a soothing cream for few days. It is recommended to limit sun exposure and to use sun screen (SPF 20 or 30) for few weeks after treatment.[/toggle_block ]
