Last year in Haircon2019 live surgical workshop was conducted at the Rejuvenate Hair Transplant Centre Indore with the active participation of delegates from all over India.

Dr. Anil K. Garg is the Honorary Secretary of Association of Hair Restoration Surgeons of India and had great responsibilities in the meeting. Dr. Garg was a secretary for the scientific committee of HAIRCON 2020.
The motto of this conference was “Learn, Share and Grow”. The event had great success.
The most important aspect of the event was that lots of time were given for discussions after each session and in the end, the take-home message was given so that the delegates learned and upgraded themselves.
Dr. Anil Garg has a detailed presentation on evidence-based update on medical treatment of pattern hair loss. The European and Japanese guidelines were given by European and Japanese dermatology societies, after detailed meta-analysis. The delegates learned about the update on medical treatment of hair loss and what are the evidences about the various modalities of treatment. Dr. Garg also presented a brief overview of beard FUE harvesting.
He showed how to harvest beard hair follicles and how to mix them with scalp hair so they do not stand out and look natural along with scalp hair. All the detailed aspects of techniques were shown in a video also.
Dr. Seema Garg presented a detailed study on Biphasic anaphylaxis which is a very important allergic reaction and every doctor should know about this. This can happen after the primary anaphylaxis, and the second reaction may be more severe. Any drug can cause allergic reactions in the form of anaphylaxis. The history of the patient for drug or food allergy is a very important aspect of the consultation of a patient who wants a hair transplant.
Dr. Seema Garg was a moderator in a skit which was written and directed by Dr. Anil Kumar Garg. The skit was a very beautiful presentation of various drug interactions which may be fatal if not diagnosed and treated in time. The skit was a great success and everyone appreciated the idea to teach drug interactions.
Dr. Anil Garg moderated various sessions during HAIRCON scientific programme and was one of the faculty in open house sessions where delegates could ask various questions and what difficulties they faced during practice.
Pledge for ‘No to Ghost surgery’ was also taken, this is the initiative taken last year in the Indore meeting. ISHRS also took steps to reduce the unethical activities of some of the technicians in the hair transplant surgery. Their slogan is ‘Fight to FIGHT’. Aim of both campaigns is – It is the surgeon who shall perform all the incisions on the scalp so excision is the job of the surgeon, he can not delegate this to technicians. but implantation can be performed by the trained technician in the pre-made slits.
These annual meetings are a great platform to learn and share recent updates about hair restoration procedures.
