In 25 years of the journey in the hair restoration field, we understood that advancement in any speciality is the result of sharing knowledge fundamentally. And this is substantiated with the need to bring forward the Second Edition to the acclaimed “Practical Guide to Hair Transplantation” book published by Drs Robert True, Seema Garg and Anil garg in 2021.

Practical Guide to Hair Transplantation is a book that has already received accolades worldwide by newcomers and seasoned hair restoration experts. As said, a transition from novice to expert requires a solid foundation of scientific principles, evolving practice and practical experience which is defined in our practice. So we are pleased to publish this updated version.

This version of the book is a blend of practical insights and scientific thoroughness which makes it noteworthy.
At each chapter, you will find a clearly written guide on topics such as patient selection, FUE and FUT(strip harvesting) technique, graft implantation, and practice setup. The interactive study is supported through concise key points, infographics, visual aids, question study at the each chapter endings, enhancing understanding and retaining the chapters.

Preface to the Second Edition

It is a proud moment for us to present 2nd Edition of practical guide to hair transplantation book. Our purpose has always remained rooted in the belief that each and every of our medical effort should not only benefit individuals, but also support communities and the planet too.

I(Dr Anil Garg) was initially trained in reconstructive and microvascular surgery. I did not understand it at first, but when I did few cosmetic procedure, I realized that hair restoration is not just about looks, but a big step toward feeling better and more confident about yourself. As soon as we started witnessing patients who regained their confidence, it inspired us to explore this field in depth.

There was a remarkable response to the First edition that all the copies were sold out within 3 years just after the publication. It led to a Chinese translation launched in June 2024 at the joint meeting of the Asian and Chinese Societies of Hair Restoration surgeons in Hangzhou(CAHRS).

Everyone was really excited and requested for more translations and learning tools, so we felt happy and worked harder to make it even better.

We have aimed to open the doors for the doctors beginning their hair restoration journeys and experienced surgeons, to get most out of the book through concepts updated in accord with modern advancements.
